Meet Ray Simmons
The experience of incarceration and the desire of helping people and positively impacting their lives are the catalysts which propelled Ray to start Operation Prison Gap In 1975, Ray, along with his family, began the unprecedented business of transporting people to various correctional facilities in New York State to visit their incarcerated loved ones. This thirty-two year old operation peaked at more than 40 buses, 2,200 passengers per weekend, traveling to nearly 50 correctional facilities. This operation is still providing service today.

This guide touches on several different subjects such as; Negative Attitude, Positive Attitude, Self Esteem, Motivation, Goals, Persistence, Patience, Procrastination, Art of Listening, and Communication. We included these subjects in our guide hoping it will change the psyche of our Veterans; generate values that are practical, meaningful and supportive of a healthy, vital lifestyle. The goal is to make sure that every Veteran receives a Guide for Better Living as a gift from us, the Citizens of America whose freedom they fought to protect.

A Passion To Make a Positive Impact
Ray Simmons has appeared on several talk shows including Like It Is with Gil Noble, The Morton Downey, Jr. Show with Morton Downey, Jr., Nightline with Ted Koppel as well as the Bill Boggs Show. Mr. Simmons has also appeared with other notable personalities such as boxing champion, Muhammad Ali, attorney, Vernon Mason and civil rights activist, the Reverend Al Sharpton. Ray has been featured in numerous newspaper articles, including the Daily News, The New York Post and The New York Times and The Village Voice.
In 2004 Ray Simmons joined the Board of Directors for Directions For Our Youth, a New York City organization geared towards seeking solutions for crime prevention and drop-out prevention for inner-city youth.
Ray continues to forge tirelessly ahead in his passion to make a positive impact on his community and young people everywhere.

Ray Simmons is a Man who was raised in the south bronx he learned how to turn dreams into reality’s his first dream was Operation Prison Gap a transportation company that him and his family started upon his release from prison in 1975 it was one of his dreams of giving families and friends of incarcerated love ones an economical opportunity to visit their love ones in prison His second dream was YES I Can a nonprofit company that he founded for the sole purpose of empowering our Youth and he developed a ten subject two week positive motivation course to assist in our youth’s empowerment His third dream was to write positive self help books his first book was Entitled A guide To Better Living For Our Veterans it was Joe Gallant a Vietnam War hero who received several medals for inspired him to write this Guide it wasJoes heroic stories of his war days in Vietnam His second dream book is entitled Words of Wisdom this book was written to help people make the wise decisions that are necessary to succeed in a world full of complications His third dream book was entitled A Guide To Better Living For Our Youth this book was written to serve as a Guide to help our precious young people to realize that they are our future my fourth dream book is entitled A GUIDE To Help You Live A Better Life this book was written to give us the tools to live a better life I am telling my story to encourage everyone to pursue all of their dreams if Ray Simmons a poor boy from the bronx who was raised by a single mother can turn his dreams into realities so can you !!!!
